algorithm behind the preallignment

Hi

1-What is the algorithm behind the preallignment options? 
I study about best method for alignment two 3d model with 80% deformation...
2- if you use ICP in preallignment options ...please explain all detail and step before and after use ICP ... because I think Your method is better than the normal ICP method
 3- could you please send me your code algorithm in preallignment  ?

but the exact algorithm is intellectual property from Zeiss. My colleague Bernd Alpers has given a short answer about the algorithm: https://forum.gom.com/topic/284-best-fit-alignment-algorithm/#comment-802 and the answer in this forum will be limit to this.
