Alignment translate to element

Good morning,

is there an alternative to the alignment called "Translate to element" to shift the mesh only in the direction of the point? Translate to element works perfectly if I use a surface point in the CAD and I measure it with intersection with mesh, but if I measure the point by, for example, disc caliper or edge caliper the translate to element add to my parent alignment X or Y component when I want to use it only for the Z, for example. In the image I show what I want: use the point only in the red direction and not in the blue direction. is it possible? Thank you in advance!CopyQ.tPGwrC.png.23f90d69f6c6ae17e883c26df8ff444d.pngCopyQ.bgagoj.thumb.png.a41f64f3ce5c55b9b33b5225770afa95.pngCopyQ.JGolIZ.thumb.png.788f03077590bd124050f605b8077e78.png

Hi,

simple answer: Yes, it is possible.

Use a RPS alignment where you constrain the degrees of freedom (only one translation to a specific coordinate system which represents the direction of translation)  and you insert only the  nominal point element as observation.

Hope this helps?!

Regards,

Bernd

Okay, after all this time I was finally able to test the solution you posted and it works very well. Thank you so much!
