Is it possible to unroll a cylindrical surface to more easily display deviations?

I have a deviation to geometry colour map of a bore to a cylinder and want to present this in a report. Ideally I'd like to be able to present the unwrapped surface showing the colour map as a flat surface instead of just showing it from multiple angles. I know you can unroll sections but can't see how to do this for a surface. Any help is greatly appreciated 🙂

in the moment this is not possible and I'm not sure if it really would help. Nevertheless, I recorded your wish but I can't give you any information if or when this wish will be realized.

It would be helpful if you can give more background information why this dependent construction would be helpful!
