Color Map Visualization

We have exact patches in CAD that show contact surfaces to other parts, and they have specific tolerance. These are separate from the part CAD.

In effect at the contact surfaces there are two layers of CAD occupying the same space.

We can evaluate this perfectly, but when we show the part, its visualization gets confused with the CAD model.

Is there any way I can show the evaluation of the patches, and the CAD model without cutting the CAD apart?

Images below, the bottom one is the issue.

Hallo David,

perhaps it would be helpful to provide the entire CAD data with transparency, or only the CAD data of the specific patch? Or to show only the boundary curves of the CAD data and not the CAD surfaces?

Hi,

do not include the contact CAD into your surface comparison. Only selected visible patches are used for creation. Of course the default is to select all CADs but you can modify it. For the part workflow you have to separate these CADs into different parts or you have to work with PatchCompounds which you have to create from the CAD.

Does this help?

Regards,

Bernd

Thanks, the transparency thing I've done, it looks OK. The best thing is to just cut the CAD so it's only one layer, it looks the best, but takes some time.

Patches, and the contact surfaces aren't the same.. would be nice..
