hard to catch points when right angle has radius

i regularly measure plastic items, and often come across designs with 90 degree right angles but deformed into radius, i don't know how to catch the exact point

Well as you say , there is no point here to assess! Locations of these types of features are notoriously ambiguous. You could think of it as a line/ surface profile in that area if the design is concerned by form.

Hello

You can catch a Theoretical Edge point created by the intersection of two lines or from the intersection of a line with a circle on a curved surface and then project this point to your scan but from what I see here is that you do not have a good definition of the form that you are scanning 

The 90° angle/straight corner is hard to obtain not to say impossible to acquirer but you can get an approximated value to the real situation but you need to be more precise on you digitalization to have a good value
