virtual projector image with scan mode Define Scan Area Manually

Hi,

GOM software proposes Define Scan Area Manually to deal with  sheet metals with double reflections, the user just needs to define manually a zone on the virtual projector image and the sensor then projects light only on this zone, as the figure below.

I am curious about this virtual projector image which seems not to be a camera image, can anyone tell me how this projector image is generated and how it is mapped to the 3D scene? And if is possible to get this image with Python script?

Hello,

I think the right image is a simulated image from the view point of the projector. Similar to the function "Rotate 3D View to Sensor" while scanning. The image is then an overlay with some distortion to fit the point of view from the projector. I'm not aware of a way to extract the image from this view.
