Multi Material Settings

How do you approach multi material scan settings? Lets say for example, you have a light rubber component attached to a stainless steel rod. Are there any tips/tricks to not washing out one or the other? Should there be two separate scans spliced together? There is relatively no information akin to the likes of Zeiss' Measuring Strategies Cookbook for CMMs. Will Zeiss be offering similar for the Metrotom?

The usual approach would be to make the x-ray radiation as monochromatic as possible to reduce reconstruction artifacts with two different densities in the scan. So here appropriate filters should be used. Having a dense filter installed, the assistant command to determine the optimal measurement parameters could be used.

Currently we have some parameter guidance in out Tech-Guide so help to define the initial parameters (https://techguide.gom.com/en/gom-software-2021/article/introduction_to_x-ray_parameters.html), but as the optimal parameters are also dependent on the object's geometry, manual optimization is usually needed. This can be done with some fast preview-scans using a lower resolution.
