problem importing pictures in program

I have a problem  importing pictures ... my program will crash after i pick my target pictures to import and show this and then exit the program automatically: 

[[Iv...]]

Hi,

which kind of pictures do you want to import (which file format, how many pictures, which size, are there some fancy file names, are there some fancy color palettes used)?
Best file formats are *.png, *.tif and *.jpg and all images of the same image series should have the same resolution.
Some more information is appreciated to get some idea what might happen here.
