How to modify manually a surface

I have built a surface  Z-G6 and I would like to modify that surface cutting as I wish. 

I have managed to reduce it with the edit parameters when I built the surface, but I want to cut it  manually, and when I select the cut it appears and error.

Any hints how can I do it.

Hi,

you must call 'Edit creation parameters' of the actual fitting surface and you have to deselect points with appropriate "De/Select functions", e.g. 'Select/Deselect through surface'. Afterwards you have to confirm the new actual surface.

But may be there are more efficient ways: May be you have to adapt the selection on the nominal (if your actual will never fit the nominal surface), then this selection is automatically applied to the actual data. Or you have to choose a better alignment (via 'Required alignment') if your actual data is not well aligned to the nominal data.
