Digitally align the bearing about the two planes

Hello,

We are struggling to find an easy, repeatable method to align two injection-moulded bearing components via their raceway-centres.

Our aim is to form a plane at the raceway centres on the mesh (where a ball bearing would sit), and digitally align the bearing about these two planes.

See schematic attached – for example, the inner raceway centre is found at the Minimum Circumscribed Circle (MCC) on the raceway.

We would like GOM Inspect to search a given surface area on the mesh (e.g. the total raceway surface) and create a Plane around the MCC in that area. How can we do this?

We would then like to repeat this process with the mating Outer Raceway, and align the two components on these planes.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Slawomir,

you could create a curve from touch points (edge) by touching the raceway from the inside. With the selection of this curve, a plane can be fitted. On the outer raceway you would touch the highest points with a touch curve.

Regards,
Nanno
