CT scan Volume scan data appears as surfaces

Please help, I imported a CT scan volume data , polygonizing shows as surface data and not as a solid volume. What am i doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

 that was my expectation. I was expecting a solid so that I can carry out volume inspection for porosity as in the image. So I still don't know what I am doing wrong that I am unable to get a solid for porosity inspection. I did create volume defect element from mesh and I still did not find a solid like in the image below and the coloured legend did appear on the image either. Could you please help me. Thank you in advance.

the volume of the mesh nor the porosity calculation requires a solid mesh model .  the software is looking at the normals of the surfaces of the mesh to generate the enclosed volume . 

it maybe that you are being thrown by the semi transparent visualisation of the mesh in this image ?
