Connector Point Selection Stops Working for Checks Separated Visualization after Replacing STL file

Connector point no longer follows what is set in Properties -> Label at some point after replacing STL file.

After replacing STL file and recalculate, I realize the label no longer points to the corresponding surface.

Connector will not move no matter how I change the connector point coordinate.

So far I observed that it happens when the following 2 conditions met

1. The visualization is one of the Checks Separated label, Label options under the Checks Grouped work properly.
2. Issue is observed only after replacing the STL with a different one.

The reason I am doing this label visualization is to hide the shade of the CAD feature from the color deviation representation. If there is another way to achieve the same result please let me know.

Update on the issue. It looks like it as nothing to do with before or after replacing STL. A Checks Separated label connector location simply does not work.
