Hi,

i have 2 stl's from which i want to compare the surfaces. The original STL from the CAD-program and an STL of the CT-model. They have a geometry of 12x12x13 mm. I want to create an region of interest of 10x10x10 mm in the center of the geomery. Can anyone help me?

Best regards,

Timo

Hey Timo,

you can define an area of interest by a selection of the actual data. In your case 'Select Inside Cube' would do the job best.

-> Edit -> Selection in 3D -> Other Selections -> Select Inside Cube ... ->

 -> Choose a meaningful Center point (may construct it upfront, I suggest a nominal point) -> define your cube size and the rotation if necessary -> press apply -> done 🙂

With this approach, your inspection is also nicely parametric. This means that if you integrate a new actual mesh into the project (be it as replacement or as additional stage), all generated selections and inspections can be automatically recalculated without you having to actively intervene (assuming you have a Pro license).

Hope this helps, Gruß - Jens
