Advice on filtering mesh

Recommended Posts

I just scanned a stamping die today, which is a bit new for me. Can anyone give me advice on filtering the scan? I figure there may be a little noise or even some areas where I may have sprayed too much and created a small drip effect that needs to be filtered.

I dont want to go overboard. Can anyone give me a little guidance on how to do so and how much?

I have been reading the tech sheets on filtering the mesh, but it would be good to get some real world input.

Thank you.

Hi Brad,

Daniel from our training department has created an "It's a Hack" episode where he shows how to easily edit a mesh via thinning and smoothing.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to specify exactly how much and how you need to filter. It depends a lot on how much information you can lose, what tolerances you have etc...

I hope this information helps you for now.

Best regards
Lukas
