MMR maximum material requirement

Hi all,

please be kind someone to help me. I'd like to check a GD&T position with maximum material requirement but for a rectangle. I created a fitting element of a rectangle and check, width and length. But if I want to check the position tolerance the max material requirement option is inactive and the liner size of the rectangle element is also inactive.

I was able to use this option if the element was a circle for example. In that way you can check the linear size of the circle and then you are able to check position with enabled max material requirement. Finally it works , the software calculates the  (m) principle.

But what if the element is a rectangle ? How to calculate with MMR?

Thank  you.

Hi.

How is your datum system BC defined? There is a small subset of datum systems, where a MMR position tolerance on rectangular (or slotted) holes is not supported.

Ah yes, the case of a planer datum is just the one that is not supported as it does not lock enough degrees of freedom. The virtual gauge can always turn around or slide way into the distance.
