Developable surface

Hi,

I would like to know if the face of a plastic bottle is completely developable, in order to understand a labelling problem (air bubbles).

is it possible ?

Hi,

we have not such a native functionality in our software. In general it's quite unlikely that you can unwind a measured triangle mesh without any local distortions. Nevertheless, may be there are workarounds possible in our software where you can derive the information indirectly (e.g. via the construction of surface curves and analyzing the length of surface curves). If you have professional support you should contact your local GOM partner with the concrete dataset if they have further ideas.

Regards

Ok,

This is what I worried about, I hoped it could exist some hidden tool.

I just found the "surface defect representation" tool, that makes possible to visualise deformations, i'll try to improve the colorimetry by managing the parametres, in order to at least reveal surfacic aberrations, and call our GOM contact at the same time.

Thank you for your answer !
